The current NABBA First Section Champion, Dublin Silver Band is made up of brass and percussion musicians from all parts of Ohio and has existed since 2010. Since its 2014 debut in the NABBA Second Section, the Dublin Silver Band (DSB) has maintained a trajectory of consistent excellence. After securing first place in the Second Section in 2015, the ensemble ascended to the First Section the following year, ultimately claiming the championship title in both 2019 and 2025. The members of the band volunteer their time and talent because of three things they all have in common: a drive to chase perfection, a genuine affection for each other, and a passion for making connections with audiences on an emotional level. To make these connections, the band commits to performing far more than ordinary concerts, instead telling stories that engage the audience in the musical performance. It is this approach that has earned the band an international reputation. DSB has performed and competed extensively, including in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Alabama, and, of course, throughout Ohio. The band has also traveled and performed abroad, playing concerts in Ireland and England before competing in Brass in Concert in Gateshead, England in 2016. In 2020 the band once again traveled to England, competing at the Butlins Festival. The band has been invited to travel to Stavanger, Norway, in November 2026 to participate in the SIDDIS Competition. DSB will be only the second non-Norwegian band to participate in the event’s 25-year history.
Musical Director
Tim Jameson
Tim Jameson has served as Music Director of the Dublin Silver Band since the band’s founding in 2010. During that time he has led the band to first place finishes in both the NABBA Second and First Sections. Before his involvement with the Dublin Silver Band, Tim was the Music Director of the Brass Band of Columbus for five years, leading BBC to a first place finish in the NABBA Championship Section in 2006. Tim is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he studied trumpet under Tom Battenberg and conducting under Donald McGinnis, Marshall Haddock, George Hardesty, and Craig Kirchoff. He is also active as an arranger, with works published by Cimarron Music, BVD Press, and 360° Music.
